    C11000 Pure Copper Introduction

    C11000 Pure Copper is a purple red metal, commonly known as "red copper". It is highly malleable. A volume as small as a drop of water can be pulled into filaments up to two kilometers long or rolled into almost transparent foil larger than a bed. The most valuable property of C11000 is that it conducts electricity very well, making it the "leading role" in the electrical industry.

    The applications of C11000 are much more extensive than iron; 50% of Cu is purified into pure copper by electrolysis every year for use in the electrical industry. Normally, very small amounts of impurities, such as phosphorus, arsenic, aluminum, etc., will greatly reduce the conductivity of copper. Oxygen in copper (which easily mixes in during copper smelting) also has a great impact on conductivity, so the Cu used in the electrical industry must generally be oxygen-free copper. In addition, lead, antimony, bismuth, and other impurities will prevent the copper crystallization from binding together, resulting in hot brittleness, which also affects the processing of C11000.

    This kind of high-purity copper is generally refined by electrolysis: using impure copper (coarse copper) as the anode, C11000 as the cathode, and a copper sulfate solution as the electrolyte. When the current passes through, the impure copper on the anode gradually melts, and the pure copper gradually precipitates on the cathode. The purity of copper obtained by such refinement can reach 99.99%.
